Alvin Marie (also known as Alvin Onyango Nyongesa or Alvin Marie Onyango) is a trainer, vocalist and singer of liturgical music currently based in Eldoret, Kenya. He hails from Our Lady of Assumption Majengo Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret, Kenya. Professionally, Alvin Marie is a trained and licensed Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, an Accredited Mediator and a trained Arbitrator. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East Africa Law Society and Amnesty International - Kenya.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from the Jomo Jenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Mediation from the Karl Mediation and Arbitration Centre (Nairobi) and a Certificate in Arbitration from the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA). He is a distinguished advocate who specializes in the practice of complex constitutional law, land and environmental law, employment and contract law as well as family law and succession. As at 2025, he had succesfully argued 3 cases before the Supreme Court of Kenya, 2 before the Court of appeal and numerous before the High Court and Magistrate Courts in Kenya. He is also an committed practitioner of pro bono briefs, willingly offering his skills for free in assistance to the genuinely needy who cannot afford to pay for legal services.
Musically, Alvin is a trained composer and vocal coach. He has worked with and trained the following choirs: Sacred Heart Choir of the AJ Shrine Lang'ata, Nairobi; St. JoseMaria Escriva Choir of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral; Sacred Heart Cathedral Youth Choir, St. Cecilia Choir Majengo, St Joseph Choir Majengo and the St. Michael Youth Choir - Majengo which he holds dear to his heart. Alvin Marie is passionate about good quality music for liturgical celebrations and has been greatly impacted by the works of legends such as Bernard Mwombeki Mukasa, John Mgandu, Fortune Shimanyi among others. Alvin aspires to inspire through music and virtuous christian life.
